I’m delighted to invite you to attend the Defence Information Symposium 2016, which will be held at Chelsea Football Club on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September.  It is not my intent that this becomes an annual event, but having specifically promised to bring major change in the Information space to Defence by September 2016, I think that it is appropriate to take stock and then look ahead.
As you know, we are embarked on a journey to fulfil our vision of ‘delivering information capabilities that are a Force Multiplier...at pace’ and whilst how far we have travelled on that  journey is important, what is even more critical is the route ahead.  The ISS top team and myself will be laying out the next steps over the coming 18 months across the whole of our agenda, including what next for Defence as a Platform (Future).  Within all this, I will be challenging everyone to be disruptive, to reimagine the delivery of information capabilities to deliver radical change, quicker, cheaper and to greater effect.
I am delighted that we will be welcoming a range of exciting speakers, including the Minister for Defence Procurement, the  Chief of Defence Staff, the CEO of Defence Equipment and Support, the US Department of Defense CIO, the Chief Executive of the Civil Service and the Chief Executive of RocketSpace to plenary sessions.  As per last year, there will also be five breakout themes, with further details available on the website.
The event offers an unparalleled opportunity to network and this year we will have both breakfast and lunch opportunities for select groups to meet with the ISS Board and key speakers.  It also offers a fantastic opportunity for industry to sponsor events, participate in what I intend will be a highly interactive exhibition and provide speakers as described in the website.
I look forward to welcoming you to the event.
