Conference MC and Facilitator

Kieron White is an expert conference facilitator, having led over 200 conferences & events for clients in the Government, Financial Services and Retail sectors.
 
He began his consulting career with Ernst and Young before founding his own consultancy company, WCL. He grew the company to employ 80 people and to be placed 12th in the 2006 Sunday Times FastTrack of the UK’s fastest growing businesses. WCL specialises in change management and has advised nearly all UK Government Departments, as well as private sector clients, on planning and managing complex change programmes.
 
In 2012 Kieron founded Think Alumni, a disruptive tech company that provides outsourced alumni communications to UK Colleges and over a million College alumni. 

Harriett Baldwin MP

Minister for Defence Procurement

In the July 2016 reshuffle, Harriett was appointed Minister for Defence Procurement. In 2015 she was Economic Secretary to the Treasury (City Minister). Harriett was appointed the Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Russia before joining the Government in February 2014 as Assistant Government Whip, then Lord Commissioner to HM Treasury.

As a backbencher, she represented the UK on the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, sat on the Work and Pensions Select Committee, was the Chair of the All-party Parliamentary Group for Russia and Vice-chair of the All-party Parliamentary Group for Occupational Pensions. Harriett was elected as the Member of Parliament for West Worcestershire in May 2010, where she has lived since 2006. 

Prior to politics, she enjoyed a successful 20 year career in finance, specialising in currency markets for pension funds.

Stephen Lovegrove

MOD Permanent Secretary

Stephen became Permanent Secretary for MOD in April 2016. He spent three years as the Permanent Secretary at the Department for Energy and Climate Change and nine years at the Shareholder Executive. He was Chief Executive and Director General of BIS, in which role he oversaw the development of strategies and transactions for the full range of State owned businesses, amongst them the Royal Mail, the Ordnance Survey and British Energy, as well as establishing the Green Investment Bank.

Before joining the Civil Service he was a managing director in the corporate finance department of Deutsche Bank and spent five years as a strategic consultant. Stephen also sat as the Government’s Representative on the Board of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. He attends National Security Council Officials meetings, is Chair of the Civil Service Learning Board and a member of the Civil Service People Board. He is also a trustee of the Charities Aid Foundation and a Non-Executive Director of Grosvenor Estates. He was appointed Companion of the Order of the Bath (CB) in the 2013 New Year Honours.

Terry Halvorsen

Chief Information Officer, US Department of Defense

Terry Halvorsen assumed the duties as the Department of Defense (DoD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) in March 2015. He previously served as the Acting DoD CIO. Prior to that, he was the Department of the Navy CIO. 

In January 2010 Mr. Halvorsen was the deputy commander, Navy Cyber Forces. Previous to that he served as the Deputy Commander, Naval Network Warfare Command. Mr Halvorsen retired from the Army after serving as an intelligence officer in a variety of assignments. 

MGen (rtd) Koen Gijsbers

General Manager, NATO Communications and Information Agency 

Mr Gijsbers took up the post of the first General Manager of the newly estab¬lished NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) in July 2012.  Prior to this, he worked in the Netherlands Ministry of Defence, responsible for IT, business management policy and as Chief Information Officer (CIO). 

In 2006 he was appointed Assistant Chief of Staff for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence of NATO’s Allied Command Transformation. 

In 2003 he took command of 11 Air Manoeuvre Brigade (Air Assault). He took command of 11 Combat Engineer Battalion in 1997. Subsequently, he was appointed chief of the Policy and Plans department of the Netherlands Training Command and chief of the General Policy Department of the Commander in Chief Royal Netherlands Army. Mr Gijsbers attended the Royal Military Academy in 1976. In 1980 he was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers.

Leonard Bastien

Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management), Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces

Mr Bastien was appointed Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management) National Defence in July 2013. Prior to this he held the positions of Director General Information Management Technology (DGIMT) and Acting Assistant Deputy Minister (Information Management).

Mr. Bastien started his career in the Canadian Forces in the late 1980s until the early 1990s. He has spent most of his professional career in the information and telecommunication technology field. He was Director of Consulting Services for Enterprise Outsourcing at CGI Ottawa in 2004, before joining the Department of National Defence (DND) as Director (DGIMST) in the Information Management Group in 2007. He was Acting Director General (DGIMST) before moving to the Department of Fisheries and Oceans as Executive Director IT Infrastructure, Operations and Security in 2009.

Tony Douglas

Chief Executive of Defence Equipment and Support, MOD

Tony assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer for Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) in December 2015. He joined the MOD in September 2015 as Chief Executive Officer Designate for Defence Equipment & Support. He has held a number of senior roles within several major companies, most recently as the Chief Executive of Abu Dhabi Airports which he joined in March 2013. 

Tony began his career at General Motors as an apprentice industrial engineer. In 1990 he moved to BAE rising to become Product Manufacturing Director in its regional aircraft division. This was followed by a number of high level positions at BAA, Lang O’Rourke and Abu Dhabi Ports Company.

Mike Nefkens

Executive Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Services for Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Mike is responsible for helping Fortune 500 enterprises leverage technology to transform so they can compete more effectively in the digital economy. He held the same role at HP, prior to the company’s separation into two companies. An authority on cyber security, he advises Boards and CEO’s on how to protect their enterprise.

He spent five years in Europe with HP, and prior to HP, almost ten years in the energy sector in Latin America, where he held a range of executive management positions, including regional president and general manager in Mexico, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and North America.

Àngels Martín

Atos, General Manager for Olympics at Major Events

Àngels is responsible for the delivery of the Olympic Projects in Atos for the Games in 2018 to 2024. She is also the Client Executive for the International Olympic Committee and responsible for the Atos Major Events office in Lausanne.

Prior to this she was Major Events Products Director. Her other previous roles include several roles that allowed her a comprehensive understanding of the different operational aspects of an IT company; Product Manager for a set of Financial Products; Operations Director for the Spanish Nearshore Factory; Offshoring Manager for Iberia; and Business Developer.

Duncan Logan

RocketSpace CEO

Duncan is the founder and CEO of RocketSpace, a technology campus headquartered in the heart of San Francisco. It provides office space and accelerator-like services to a curated community of startups and global corporations designed to help them bring the future to market. RocketSpace’s perfect ecosystem has fueled the success of more than 800 startups, including Uber, Spotify and Leap Motion, and more than 100 corporate partners, such as Tata Communications, Lufthansa, Schneider Electric and Pfizer. At 24, he started his first company, CITYPRO, which he built to $8 million in revenue over a three year period, before its sale in 2000. In 2002, Duncan joined MessageLabs, an early SaaS security company, which he helped to build until it was sold to Symantec in 2008 for $700 million. 

​Bill O’Connor

Innovation Strategist at Autodesk

Bill is responsible for developing Autodesk’s innovation perspectives and programs. He is also the Founder of the Autodesk Innovation Genome Project (AIGP), a 10-year research project dedicated to studying innovation as it happens out in the real world (past and present) and developing a set of innovation techniques that are applicable and valuable in real-world situations.
 
Over the past five years Bill and team have done more than 375 AIGP presentations/workshops for Autodesk’s Major Account customers; Fortune 100 corporations; technology leaders such as Facebook, Google, Twitter, Airbnb, and Tesla; Silicon Valley startups; and government/military organizations such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Naval Academy, and the U.S. Air Force. Currently the AIGP Team is researching the innovation techniques of Nobel Prize winners through a series of face-to-interface interviews with Nobel Laureates around the world, in partnership with the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm. And the project is going to be featured in the next issue of Innovations, a journal published by the MIT Press.
 
Before Autodesk, Bill was happily involved with three very successful Silicon Valley startups, and three very unsuccessful Silicon Valley startups; and also worked for publishing and interactive companies in Boston.

Emily Taylor

Associate Fellow of Chatham House and Editor of the Journal of Cyber Policy  

Emily is a member of the Global Commission on Internet Governance Research Advisory Network. Her research publications include a study on how Cybercrime and Access impact Gulf Countries (Chatham House); “ICANN: Bridging the Trust Gap” and “Privatisation of Human Rights” for the Global Commission; annual World Report on Internationalised Domain Names (lead author); and reports for the UK regulator, Ofcom, and a review of ICANN's policy development process.  She chaired the independent WHOIS Review Team for ICANN, and served on the Internet Governance Forum’s Multistakeholder Advisory Group. From 2000-2009, she was at Nominet as Director of Legal and Policy.

General Sir Gordon Messenger

Vice Chief of Defence Staff 

General Sir Gordon Messenger was appointed as Vice Chief of the Defence Staff in May 2016, having been Deputy Chief of Defence Staff (Military Strategy and Operations). In January 2013, he assumed the position of Deputy Commander of NATO’s Allied Land Command in Izmir, Turkey. From 2010 to 2012 he served as Chief of Staff (Operations) at the Permanent Joint Headquarters. 

General Sir Gordon Messenger joined the Royal Marines in 1983. After a range of junior officer appointments he attended the Canadian Staff College, held two staff jobs, was Chief of Staff to 3 Commando Brigade and commanded 40 Commando. After a sabbatical in Geneva, he joined Joint Force Headquarters as Chief of Staff, commanded 3 Commando Brigade, was Chief of Defence Staff’s Strategic Communication Officer, attended the Higher Command and Staff Course, and acted as Director Force Development before being appointed Director Joint Commitments (Military).

Major General R J Semple CBE

British Army CIO

Major General Semple was appointed the first Chief Information Officer for the Army in April 2015 and has relished the opportunity of establishing this board level role to drive improved information exploitation across the land domain. Prior to this appointment he was Director General Logistics, Support and Equipment for the Army.

Major General Semple joined the Army in 1986, commissioned into the Royal Engineers.  He commanded a close support squadron in 16 Air Assault Brigade, and the regiment in support of 7 Armoured Brigade. He gained a master's degree in defence administration and attended the Army Command and Staff Course.  As a staff officer he has worked extensively in the defence policy, equipment and IS arenas. He was promoted to Colonel in 2006 as Assistant Director of Command and Battlespace Management in Headquarters Land Forces.  Further promotions and appointments included Assistant Chief of Staff J6 in the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Brigadier Equipment Strategy (Army) and Brigadier General Staff. 

Mike Stone

Chief Digital and Information Officer, MOD

Mike has been CDIO since May 2014. His remit covers all Communication and Information Systems/Services used by Defence Forces globally, whether in the field or in the corporate space. His other responsibilities include being CEO of Information Systems and Services (a 2,500 person, £2bn pa organisation) and Service Information Risk owner.

Prior to this Mike was CEO of Defence Business Services which provides the entire back office for Defence in the HR, financial and vetting arenas. He was previously COO of Mastek, President of Service Design for BT Global Services, COO of BT International and CEO of BT Open Access. Mike began life as an Army Officer and was commissioned into the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment. He retired in 2002 in the rank of Brigadier. His last post was as Army CIO.

Maj Gen Ivan Hooper

ISS Director Service Operations, MOD

Ivan is responsible for the operation and defence of the MOD’s global communications network. His command and operational experience includes deployments to Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He has provided High Readiness computer information systems support to the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) and managed their move from Germany to the UK. He has been an instructor at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the College of Management and Technology and the Joint Services Command and Staff College. He is an alumnus of the Major Projects Leadership Academy and has participated in reviews of a number of major Government projects outside the MOD.

David Lynam

ISS Director Service Development, MOD

David is responsible for the development and procurement of MOD’s communication and information systems and services. He last served in the MOD in 2002. He left having established the post of Director Equipment Capability for Command Control and Information Infrastructure and was responsible for the early capability packages around NEC and projects such as Bowman, Skynet V, DII and Falcon.  During his 30-year military career he served in Northern Ireland, Germany and the UK. David has held appointments in Lockheed Martin, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the Atomic Weapons Establishment. 

Martin Elliot

ISS Director Service Design, MOD

Martin joins ISS as Director Service Design. He was the Director of Transformation for the IT function within BP and managed, for the Group CIO, a programme of change required to transform the organisation and operating model of the function. Prior to that, Martin was BP’s CIO for Strategy and Operational Excellence for 5 years, where he was responsible for IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security, and the development of Professional Capabilities across the IT organization.

Rob Lees

ISS Director Commercial, MOD

Rob joined MOD in November 2015. He has led IS, programme and procurement teams and engagements across many blue-chip organisations including Vodafone, Gartner,  BT, Cadbury/Kraft, Travelex, United Biscuits, BG and others. Rob’s most recent engagements include IT transformation at a leading property developer,  procurement transformation as interim CPO at Mitie, IS transformation work for Gartner at Direct Line and London Metal Exchange, as well as global strategic sourcing training for Unilever’s Procurement Academy, Rexam, and Laing O'Rourke.

Herman Narula

Improbable CEO

Herman holds a computer science degree from Cambridge University and is interested in the potential impact that powerful, meaningful virtual worlds have on how we think, play and make decisions. Herman also sits on the Advisory Board of the UK Government Digital Service. 

General Sir Mike Jackson GCB

General Sir Mike Jackson served as Chief of the General Staff and Head of the Army until
2006. He commanded the British in Iraq, UN forces in Kosovo and peacekeeping missions in
Bosnia.
 
He was originally commissioned into the Intelligence Corps, specialising in the threat from the Soviet Union then transferred to the Parachute Regiment. In the 1990s, he served as deputy to NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Wesley Clark.

Tim Stone

Partner and Venture Partner Director, Breed Reply
 
Tim is one of the founding partners of Breed Reply, who is an investor and advanced incubator dedicated to startups in the Internet of Things. He leads the bespoke support programme to develop and accelerate the commercialisation of their startup portfolio.
 
His career started in sales and rapidly moved through to Executive roles covering all aspects of creating and operating a successful business. His key roles have ranged from Business Development Director, CCO and CEO in both corporate organisations and startups, with a focus on the Telecoms industry
 
A thread throughout his career has been creating success through partnerships. In Vodafone Tim created from scratch the wholesale strategy, then executed this taking market share from 0 to 30%+ in less than three years. This success was delivered through the strategic development of major new brands. He has also seen a significant exit to a major operator from one his startup ventures. 

General Sir Chris Deverell KCB MBE ADC

General Sir Chris Deverell was commissioned into the Second Royal Tank Regiment in 1979. After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in politics, philosophy and economics, he saw regimental service in Northern Ireland, Germany, Belize and Cyprus. He commanded the Joint Nuclear Biological and Chemical Regiment (First Royal Tank Regiment) at RAF Honington in Suffolk, and 4th Armoured Brigade in Iraq and Germany.
 
General Deverell has served 4 appointments in the Head Office of the Ministry of Defence: in Land Systems Operational Requirements, in Army Plans, as Assistant Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Defence, and as Director of Equipment Capability (Ground Manoeuvre). His operational appointments include Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Land Operations in the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Chief of Staff to the Senior British Military Advisor at US Central Command during the build-up to and invasion of Iraq, and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff (Operations/Commitments) in Headquarters Land Forces.
 
On promotion to Major General in December 2008, he became Director General Logistics Support and Equipment in Headquarters Land Forces, before moving to Defence Equipment and Support in March 2011 as Director Materiel Strategy. In July 2012 he was appointed Chief of Materiel (Land) and Quartermaster General. Upon promotion to General in April 2016 he assumed Command of Joint Forces Command.

LTG Alan R Lynn

Lieutenant General Alan R. Lynn is Director, Defense Information Systems Agency and Commander, Joint Air Force Headquarters- Department of Defense Information Networks (DODIN), Fort Meade, Md.   

As the director of DISA, he leads a global organization of military and civilian personnel who plan, develop, deliver, and operate joint, interoperable, command and control capabilities and a global enterprise infrastructure in direct support of the President, Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Combatant Commanders, Department of Defense components, and other mission partners across the full spectrum of operations.  

As the commander of Joint Force Headquarters – DODIN, he is in charge of the command and control of defensive cyberspace activities focusing on unity of command and unity of effort within the Department of Defense. He is responsible for organizing, training, and equipping the JFHQ-DODIN military and civilian force, which in turn is responsible for securing, operating, and defending the Department of Defense Information Networks. 

LTG Lynn graduated as a ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate with a degree in English from the California University of Pennsylvania, California, Pa., in 1979.  He was awarded a network engineering specialty from the Air Force Information Systems Officer Course in 1988. He also completed a Masters Degree in National Resource Management at the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) in 2000.  

Dr Peter Lawrence

Dr Peter Lawrence was appointed to the role of Chief Information Officer in November 2012. Since embarking on his Defence journey, Dr Lawrence has supported, initiated and maintained a major program of work including;

  • Pathway to Change
  • Internal Cultural Change Program
Dr Lawrence’s vision for the future is to deliver ICT that enables Defence to deliver on mission and business outcomes, and provide the core ICT services that allow Defence to defend Australia and its national interests. Prior to joining the Australian Public Service he had a long career in the private sector working for Royal Dutch Shell, ANZ and Origin Energy.

Dr Lawrence graduated from the University of Bath with a PhD in Chemistry in 1989, prior to that he completed a BSc in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham from 1982-1985. Upon graduating with his PhD he joined Royal Dutch Shell in London and embarked on a career of 18 years with them. During this time he held a wide variety of roles of increasing seniority and global reach based in the UK, Australia and Japan. These included: Managing Director, Shell Services International Japan; Operations Manager IT Professional Services Asia Pacific Middle East and Country Manager IT, Shell Australia.

In 2007 he joined the ANZ Bank based in Melbourne as the Head of IT Infrastructure. After less than a year in the role he moved to be the Chief Information Officer for ANZ New Zealand based in Wellington covering all of the business activities in New Zealand across Retail, Agricultural, Commercial and Institutional banking. Upon returning from New Zealand in 2011 Dr Lawrence joined Origin Energy, based in Melbourne, as the Group Manager IT, supporting the Energy Markets business covering the Generation, Wholesale, Trading, LPG and Retail parts of the business.

Air Marshal P C Osborn CBE RAF

Air Marshal Phil Osborn (routinely known as Osby) joined the Royal Air Force in 1982 and, as a Tornado navigator, he has served on numerous Tornado GR1/4 squadrons, both in the United Kingdom and Germany. He commanded No XIII Squadron (Tornado GR4A) and Royal Air Force Marham, and served in Turkey as the Commander British Forces Op RESINATE (NORTH), responsible for all in-country air operations planning during the run-up to Op TELIC. In 2011, he was appointed as Air Officer Commanding No 2 Group, and Chief of Staff Operations and Support for Air Command.  

Osborn’s previous staff tours have all had a Capability focus and his responsibilities have been focussed on Combat Air, Carrier Strike, Land Forces Engagement, Weapons and, latterly, Joint Enabling capabilities. As the 2* Director Capability Joint Forces Command, he was the Capability Sponsor for the JFC Portfolio (which includes C4ISR, Special Projects, Joint Medical and Joint Logistics) and, with colleagues, he was responsible for JFC Portfolio leadership, planning, scrutiny and approval. In Jan 2015, Osborn was appointed as Chief of Defence Intelligence from 20 January 2015 in the rank of Air Marshal.  

Osborn has been awarded a Queens Commendation for Valuable Service, and has been appointed OBE and then CBE. His staff training has included attendance at the Royal Australian Air Force Staff College in Canberra, the Higher Command and Staff Course at the Defence College and the PJHQ Pinnacle Course in 2011. 

Alice Bentinck MBE

Alice Bentinck MBE founded Entrepreneur First, an early stage investment organisation, focusing on deep technology startups, with more than £60m under management. Over the last 5 years EF has built and invested in 100 startups. Their most recent exit was Magic Pony Technology, a visual processing company with ten patents, to Twitter for a reported $150m. Their portfolio focuses on artificial intelligence, but also includes virtual reality, intelligent sensors and robotics. Entrepreneur First was named the Best Accelerator in Europe in 2016. 

Claire Fry

Claire Fry is currently fulfilling the interim ISS Design Director until permanent replacement is in place. Her key task is to further mature the Design Authority and ensure a smooth transition to the new director. Claire’s main role is the MOD Information Head of Professions, taking up this appointment in July 2014.  In this role she is responsible for the Information Technology (IT), Information Assurance (IA) and Knowledge and Information Management (KIM) professions including the professional standards, skills requirement and delivery of a professionalised information community across Defence.  Claire previously held the role of the Head of the Chief Information Office within DE&S.  In this role she was responsible for the protection, management and exploitation of information across DE&S, including the people and system aspects.  Her key achievement during this time was achieving IAMM Level 3 for DE&S, taking the TLB from the least performing TLB when she inherited it to one of the most forward leaning.  She also held the role of Head of Profession for Information Technology - custodian for 2800+ IT professionals across Defence and linking with the cross Government initiatives in the IT arena.  As Information Skills Director within DE&S she led the development Information skills across the Information Professional and Information user base.  Prior to her SCS post Claire led a team of 35 Management Consultants delivering consultancy interventions across DE&S including business process engineering, organisational development, and team building.  Under her direction, the consultancy team was awarded the Institute of Business Consultancy (IBC) Premier Practice status. Claire also achieved Certified Management Consultant (CMC) status during this time.  During her 16 year career with MOD Claire has been a member of several development schemes, specifically MIDIT and Leaders UnLtd. She was sponsored to complete a full time MBA with Cranfield University.  During this time she also completed her MCIPD.  Prior to this she worked in a Trading fund, primarily focussed on IS roles including configuration management, business systems change, IS project management, and change management. She successfully implemented ITIL standards (configuration management, change management and helpdesk development). She was also responsible for software licensing and Federation Against Software Theft (FAST) accreditation. Prior to working for MOD, Claire spent 2 years completing a graduate training programme in the private sector. 

Vishaal Hariprasad

Vishaal was the Technical Co-founder and Director of Software Engineering for a Silicon Valley based cybersecurity company: Morta Security.  Morta Security was acquired by Palo Alto Networks in January 2014.  A graduate of the US Air Force Academy with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics Vishaal has served on active duty as a Cyberspace Operations Officer for the US Air Force with numerous combat deployments and stations overseas and with the NSA.
 
An Iraq Veteran and Bronze Star Medal Awardee, Vishaal also has a Masters from Virginia Tech and his technical certifications include the GIAC Security Expert (GSE) and CISSP.  Vishaal was appointed by the US Secretary of Defense as a partner to help lead the Department’s Silicon Valley Outpost in May of this year.

Rod McCurdy MD

Enterprise Transformation Serco

Rod McCurdy is a board level executive with 18 years of international business leadership experience across the Service industry. Having worked and lived in Asia, North & South America, Europe and UK, he has developed a deep understanding of the importance of Diversity & Inclusion, which forms much of the foundation of his leadership style. Rod works for Serco as their MD for Enterprise Transformation, a new unit set up to develop strategic partnering arrangements with government, including divestments. 
 
Rod joined Serco from British Telecom in early 2013 to lead Defence Business Services (DBS).  Starting out as the Chief Operating Officer, Rod became the Chief Executive Officer of DBS in May 2014.  DBS is recognised as an exemplar of innovative contracting, building a client partnership and leading an enterprise through a multi-year transformation.  Over a four year period, DBS delivered £100m of savings, while significantly improving both customer satisfaction and employee engagement.
 
Rod has led strategic growth investments for both Alcatel-Lucent and British Telecom which have led to significant increases in pipeline and revenue.  Rod has held positions as the Chief Financial Officer and then the Chief Operating Officer of Lucent Worldwide Services in for Asia Pacific, China and India.  Rod brings a deep understanding of the values and behaviours required to build and provide best in class services, including through acquisition.
 
In 2003, Rod joined a team that hand-built and sailed a replica of a 3,000 years old Bolivia ‘reed ship.’   After persevering through severe food rationing and many set-backs, the team reached Easter Island safely after 75 days on the open ocean (expected time was 35 days); proving that boats typical of South America thousands of years ago could have been used to populate or trade with Polynesia.
 
Rod has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management.  He is married to Andrea and lives in Saltford, near Bath with their three Children. 

John Manzoni

John became Permanent Secretary for the Cabinet Office in August 2015. He was appointed Chief Executive of the Civil Service in October 2014 and continues in this role also. He joined the Cabinet Office in February 2014 as Chief Executive of the Major Projects Authority.

John was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian oil and gas company Talisman Energy Inc. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the private sector. In his 24 years at BP, he contributed to its global growth and held senior strategic and operational leadership roles at global, regional and local level. Between 2002 and 2007, he was Chief Executive, Refining and Marketing, spanning 6 different businesses across more than 100 countries and he was a member of the BP plc main board from 2003 to 2007.
